Whether you’re in your first job or just one of many, it’s likely that you’ll encounter some unique challenges. Not every job is a dream—you can find yourself dealing with crazy coworkers or unsympathetic bosses. Even your dream job can turn into a nightmare.
From calling out toxic work culture to getting in trouble just for breathing, these tweets about workplace grievances will leave you speechless.
False Accusations
It can be pretty alarming to get accused of something you didn’t do at work. What’s even more frustrating here is that this person didn’t even get a chance to defend herself and didn’t even get an apology once the boss realized their mistake.
Image by Joshua Rawson-Harris/Unsplash; Image via Imgur
At least they acknowledged that Jo didn’t do anything wrong and it was his own wife’s fault, but it wouldn’t have hurt to throw an apology in there too.
Dress Coded
Getting dress coded in an adult job can make you feel like you’re back at school. Things have definitely got more casual with the times, but there are still some silly rules about what looks professional and what doesn’t.
Image by Joanna Nix-Walkup/Unsplash; Image via Imgur
Renee took measures into her own hands after getting dress coded at work, by coming in looking silly in a tucked-in sweater—proving that sarcastic rebellion is clearly the best way to prove a point.
Garden of Eden
Working in healthcare can provide some wholesome moments. This was their patient’s first time going outside in three years, so it was a big deal!
Image by Ayo Ogunseinde/Unsplash; Image via Imgur
Maybe they missed the memo that you don’t have to resort to biblical measures—stealing apples from a Catholic nun's garden—to have a snack. If he was hungry, his carer should have been able to feed him without having to resort to a crime. It was lucky they didn’t get caught, though.
Do It or Lose It
It’s one thing to get disciplinary action at work if you’re slacking or you’ve done something wrong, but to be denied support and eventually fired just for having a chronic illness is totally unacceptable!
Image by Nolan Manning/Unsplash; Image via Imgur
This is just not how you treat your employees. It sounds like a blessing in disguise that she got out of that job, and we hope she found somewhere else that supports her.
Counting Towels
This takes the term “micro-manager” to another level. Why their boss is listening to them in the bathroom in the first place is beyond us.
Image by taylor hernandez/Unsplash; Image via Imgur
It’s one thing to be wasteful and we’re all trying to look out for the environment, but it's a completely different thing to be so particular about something as silly as how many paper towels people are using! We feel sorry for whoever’s manager this is.
Bus on Fire
Public transport can be the enemy of punctuality at the best of times, but if you’re asking us, being on a bus that’s literally on fire is one of those situations where you’d expect a little understanding from your boss.
Image by Mike Von/Unsplash; Image via Imgur
So next time you catch the bus, make sure you leave the house with enough time in case it sets alight, otherwise, you’re in big trouble.
