Sarah Ertmann is Taking Instagram by Storm with Her DIY Clips

If you’re always in the mood for a new DIY project and want to turn your home into a pastel-colored paradise, Sarah Ertmann’s Instagram page will become your new obsession. She’s a self-thought interior design enthusiast, who enjoys upcycling old furniture and home décor pieces in her Berlin home.

Ertmann is based in Berlin’s neighborhood of Reinickendorf, known for its blend of modern and tiny, historic buildings. She moved here because the apartment she found was too cheap to resist, but it still required a lot of work – and she decided to do it all on her own.

Ertmann studied visual communications, and she works as a designer for Gitti Beauty. She only works digitally so her full-time job doesn’t really have to do anything with upcycling or DIY, and her passion for interior design was something she decided to explore in her free time.

Ertmann started actively sharing DIY and makeover content in early 2021, and she’s been doing it ever since. Her upcycling journey included a lot of trial and error, but she never gave up and her skills significantly evolved over time.

“I learn a lot about tools and techniques on the way, you can basically watch my DIY journey in my reels from the very beginning. The upcycling projects that are perfect for beginners are small lamps, stools, small tables, and picture frames,” she explains on Instagram.
