Self-Taught Artist Created An Entire City Using Only Toothpicks

Self-thaught artist Bob Morehead is a remarkable toothpick master. The Virginia-based artist is also the creator of Bob’s Toothpick City, for which he used only wood glue and basic toothpicks. To create this piece of art, Morehead needed more than 300,000 toothpicks.

“I believe all artists, at one time or another, become so discouraged they contemplate giving up their craft,” the artist shared in an article to WENN International. “When you’re made to feel like creating art is not a ‘real job’ by people who don’t understand or appreciate its true value, it makes one second-guess themselves. For me, creating is like oxygen. I can’t survive without it; it truly is a part of my being, a part of my soul.”

Bob’s Toothpick City weighs around 50 pounds and is 8 feet wide, 2 feet tall, and 2 feet deep. It’s inspired by the beautiful architecture along the Amalfi Coast near Naples, Italy.
