Brussels Griffons are a truly adorable breed that deserves all the love in the world, but not many of them managed to find viral fame. An adorable NYC pup with the cheeky name Brussels Sprout is one of the few who did, but he faced many ups and downs before becoming one of Instagram’s most adorable pups.
The tricky thing about Brussels Griffons is their predisposition to a neurological disorder called syringomyelia, also known as a chiari-like malformation. He was diagnosed with this condition in 2018, but his dog mom Sigrid reacted as quickly as she could and helped him get on to the road to recovery.
Even during his darkest moments, Sprout never lost his zest for life, which remains one of his most positive qualities. Sigrid initially adopted him in 2016 and named him Sprout because she’s a huge fan of silly vegetable puns.
This adorable pup was just one year old when he earned AKC Novice, Intermediate and Advanced Trick titles, and he has many amazing dog tricks up his sleeve. To make the whole thing even more impressive, he’s also a published author! His book The Good Boy’s Guide to Being Good came out this year and it will help you better understand your furry friend.
