]]>Indeed, one thing is clear when scrolling through Jadhav’s Instagram page: her playful inclination for experimentation. After years of playing around with different aesthetics, she found that her best work happens when she’s creating surreal spaces. Inspired by photography, architecture, modern art, and textiles, she uses characters, forms, and textures that add a tactile quality to her finished pieces.
Born in India, Jadhav grew up in the bustling city of Mumbai, recalling her childhood as filled with creativity. According to Jadhav, growing up in India also meant she was surrounded by its colorful culture, which would later inspire her work. After attending Supinfocom Rubika for her master’s in 3D Direction, she decided to work at an indie game studio in the Netherlands, and has lived there since 2016.
Now based in Enschede, she also runs an online shop that offers postcards and art prints. A multi-disciplined illustrator, Jadhav’s aim is to deliver imagery that surpasses the brief, satisfying both herself and her audience. “I live to create illustrations that are pleasing to the senses,” she writes.

]]>“I often draw spaces that you might want to hide in or hide from, or where outside and inside our blurred,” Borrett shared in an interview with Indigits. “Protective walls are breached.”
Devoid of human presence, his illustrations provide the perfect backdrop for a sci-fi movie or video game. “I create spaces for the viewer to explore and respond to however they will,” says Borrett, “so in that sense the interpretation is open and free.”
His landscapes include a digital rendering of Toronto which he calls a “Hypnagogic City”, explaining that “Hypnagogia” is the experience of the transitional state from wakefulness to sleep. In it, the city’s civic center is presented in a seemingly parallel universe. Taking a maximalist approach, the viewer is presented with a hyper-detailed scene that invites repeated exploration.
Born in rural Ontario, Borrett admits to being inspired by the natural world. “The natural world inspires me most,” says Borrett, “the way it resovles into infinite detail in both directions, if you have the eyes or instruments to look closely enough.”

I love the irony and metaphoric messages they played with and that’s also something I always try to incorporate. Also, I like to look at the current trends, like to stay up to date through art festivals or talks and go to galleries.”
