Jason Lyon is an award-winning, Chinese freelance artist living and creating in the UK. Using digital art as his favorite medium, the artist mixes elements from the natural world with current affairs in a surreal manner.
“My visual language is mostly inspired by the things I see, the beautiful colors and lines from the natural world, the unique concepts from films and the complex emotions from people around me,” the artist said in an interview for Ballpit. “I often like to have some depth in my artwork, I tend to create a narrative for every piece of work I do, so for instance, a piece of editorial illustration is never just about the article, but something more.”
He has been doing art since he was a little boy and he’s inspired by Asian illustrator Victo Ngai and the sights he was seeing during his travels, Lyon didn’t quit his dream about becoming an artist, although, at the time art was only considered as a hobby in his homeland.
