Hannah Teakle Creates Digital Masterpieces by Observing the World Around Her

Hannah Teakle is a Canadian artist from Winnipeg who used to draw when she was spending her free time indoors. She says that she liked it very much because it helped her to relieve stress. As a kid she was making only pencil drawings, however, when she turned thirteen, she transitioned to digital art and it has been her main medium since 2013.

Animals and other cartoon characters are firstly done on paper, as a rough sketch, and only then the drawing is transformed to Photoshop or Procreate where Teakle finishes what she started.

“I think being an illustrator means I’m always observing the world around me. I’m trying to soak in the things around me – colors, light, interesting shapes in nature, the way fabric folds and expressions of faces. It’s a wonderful feeling to float through the world in awe of the world around you,” the artist told in an interview for Ballpit and added that the things that are inspiring her vary from time to time.
