]]> Want to make your meals a bit more fun and interesting for your kids? Then you might want to see how Corinne—aka _ghoul_mom_—is doing it. This Washington, DC-based food artist is turning ordinary food into quirky characters by making just a few small but effective interventions.

Corinne got into food art during the pandemic, wanting to surprise her kids with new and fun creations. It soon became a passion for her and is now a hobby that she wholesomely enjoys. Her Instagram page, where she showcases her newest food creations, has more than 20K followers, and the number is continuously growing.

The recurring theme in Corinne’s food creations are monsters, aliens, and other playful characters. They sometimes look weird or scary, but they are always delicious. This approach also allows her to get her kids interested in the food they usually are not too happy to eat.

“I feel inspired to make food art because it makes my kids laugh and try foods they wouldn’t normally be interested in,” she shared in a recent interview with Bored Panda.

Harley Langberg is a New York City-based food artist who found his passion in recreating pop culture characters, animals, objects, and more on his plate. Using all sorts of food, ranging from veggies to bacon, Langberg so far constructed realistic depictions of Mufasa from Lion King, Winifred Sanderson from Hocus Pocus, Jason from Friday the 13th, and Chuckie from Rugrats, to name a few.

“The ingredients used in his pieces are carefully selected, spanning both the food pyramid and the globe,” the bio on his website states.

Langberg has been involved in food art for the past nine years. It all started when he was out shopping for groceries at a local market and noticed a food art photo. He was captivated by it and decided to try creating some himself the same night. And he never stopped.

Since making his first food art piece, Langberg perfected his technique, gained a significant social media following, and worked on projects for various companies. The list of his former clients is impressive and includes the likes of Chili’s, Food Network, Billboard, and Kroger.

I’m serious about this easy Carrot Chickpea “Tuna” salad🥕🤗🥕 So much so that I’m posting the recipe again. It’s my super easy go-to meal because it takes just a few minutes to make! Carrot Chickpea Tuna: 1 can chickpeas, drained & rinsed 2 carrots, shredded (by hand or food processor) ¼ cup vegan mayo 2 tsp Dijon mustard 2 tsp ume plum vinegar + more to taste 1 tsp celery seeds 2 tsp dulse seaweed flakes (optional) 1 nori seaweed sheet, torn into squares Place the chickpeas in a bowl, and mash with a fork. Stir in the carrots, vegan mayo, mustard, ume vinegar, celery seeds, and dulse. Season with more ume vinegar to taste. Serve with nori over crackers (like the Wasa Thins pictured), on a salad, with toast, in a sandwich, etc. #vegantuna #healthysnackideas #thefeedfeed @thefeedfeed

]]> Laleh Mohmedi is a mom to two little ones, son Jacob and daughter Charlie, who like to make art from food. Her food preparation journey began in 2015 when she started to turn her son’s meals into characters. All the food she is making is healthy, organic, and adorable looking.

“All the meals are edible – some are made to be eaten, others commissioned and others as art pieces,” Mohmedi shared with Bored Panda. “They are made from scratch and dyed using only natural ingredients! We love to use fresh, healthy products and no refined sugar or preservatives.”

She began sharing her creations on her social media account and in just a month she became viral allowing her to turn her fun hobby into a career.

]]> Lee Samantha is a Malaysian food artist who transforms her two daughters’ meals into colorful and healthy meals. She started creating food art in 2008 to help her eldest daughter eat independently and healthily and began sharing her unique artworks on Instagram in 2011.

Since then, her creative approach of “storytelling” on a plate has not only pleased her daughters but has gained her local and international attention.

She only uses simple tools to create her fun art. “I like to keep things simple. Use what you have in the kitchen. You don’t need special tools or ingredients – just imagination!” she wrote on her website.

She’s a strong believer of using fresh and healthy ingredients and doesn’t want to waste food. Her artistic plates have earned her collaborations with famous brands such as The Food Network, Unilever, HP, and Samsung.

With more than half a million followers on Instagram, she has established herself as a talented food artist with her amazing food creations.
