Keeping houseplants alive is easy for some people and a real struggle for others. If you’ve never been known as a plant lady, perhaps it’s time to replace them with something easier but equally beautiful. UK-based artist Antara creates just the right thing for that: miniature paper plants that look totally real!

The artist creates miniature masterpieces that look amazingly realistic. The first paper plant she made was a Monstera replica, and she quickly realized that it was her passion and made many more. “I was passionate about crafting and sketching since my very early childhood,” My Modern Met quotes her. “I have a certain addiction to making things manually without any digital methods.”

Antara has an online store where she sells her works now. Her brand is called Craftifact and you can shop for the items on her Etsy page. Each paper sculpture takes her hours to make which determines the price, but if you’re looking for a unique gift for a plant lover in your life or for yourself, you won’t go wrong with one of her pieces.

You can also follow Antara’s work on Instagram along with over 1,500 other people who appreciate her work, although we believe this number is going to grow rapidly soon!

People collect all kinds of stuff, from action figures and beautiful napkins to vinyl records. These things can take up a lot of space, and that was certainly the case of 30-year-old Tony LeBritton, who transformed his lounge into a fully-fledged jungle.

But what makes his jungle so unique is that his plants are literally worth a fortune. In his house, you can find some of the rarest and expensive plants, one of which have leaves worth $16,000 each.

He explains that this specimen is unique because of its leaf pattern. Not only that, but apparently it’s the only one in the world quite like it. Indeed, LeBritton maintains that he already has tree leaf pre-orders, due to its popularity.

LeBritton inherited his love for plants from his grandparents, two passionate plant lovers—especially his grandma Cora who was a plant collector as well.

“It just with stuck with me—I grew up in the garden. It’s all about the experiences I had when I was younger, being at the allotment with my grandparents. People always admired [Cora’s] garden, and she made me a part of that. It’s in my blood, I suppose,” he told MetroUK in an interview. He then added that being surrounded by plants for 25 years helped him understand plants better.

His astonishing images on his Instagram account speak for themselves. If you also love greenery, feel free to check out the gallery below.

Your houseplants don’t sit still all day long, even though it may look like that. They actually move a lot but do it slowly, so you can’t really notice—unless you take a video and fast-forward it. That’s exactly what the videos below show. The time-lapse videos we’re sharing with you today will show you plants from a different perspective and it may surprise you how active they are during the day.

One of our favorite videos on this topic was published on Twitter by Melora_1 back in September and it quickly went viral, getting nearly nine million views so far. The video includes a red clock so you can tell how much time is passing as the plants move.

There are more similar videos below and if you get really into them you can easily search for more by exploring the social media accounts that shared them in the first place. It’s oddly satisfying to see the activity of plants that usually look like they are standing still and, to be completely honest, it’s a little frightening, too!

“I find inspiration from things around me, things that are in season or whose presence is fleeting,” the artist told in an interview for Ballpit and added that when it comes to art, she isn’t a planner or sketcher.

“I like to just go for it when I first start drawing something as if it’s going to be the final. But that doesn’t always work out, and when it doesn’t I love to use my tracing table to layer different sketches and drafts into a final layout. Then, I grab my bucket of gouache paints and start putting different color tubes together to get an idea of the palette I want,” she added.

Scroll down and take a look at her paintings below.

One of the biggest trends of 2019 is potted plants. Social media is just bursting with awe-inspiring photos of lush jungles nestled in city apartments – and the trend doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. But what if you don’t have enough light or space for plants? The answer to your problems is a glass bottle.

This might sound crazy, but many urban people who don’t have space or light for full-grown plants turn to terrariums instead. All you need to do to make one is to take any old glass container, line it with some soil and pebbles, and fill it with tiny plants. The glass helps to retain moisture and serves as a small-scale ecosystem. Just a small amount of water is enough to keep the plants going for weeks.

Some terrariums are massive, but you can also make a tiny one and hang it outside your window or place it on a small table. As time passes, the plants will grow and fill the container, gradually becoming a miniature jungle. These small-scale forests are more than just plants in a bottle – they are living works of art.
