]]>Satin scrunchies and headbands, wrist bags, peak bucket bags, pouches, bumbags are just some of the products you can find on her website and online store named OlaOla. Although she only has over 1,000 Instagram followers, Olayinka collaborates with companies and schools and creates kits.
“I also work as the studio coordinator of The Fashion School, and we’ve made a series of Fashion Kits containing different projects to work on”, she said in an interview for Embellished Talk. “The kits vary from making tote bags to downloadable patterns to make crop tops and hot pants.”
However, after COVID-19 happened, she remembered the real reason behind starting her business. “It’s given me time to work on the things I’ve been avoiding or felt I never had the time to do. I’ve been able to just focus on making art for the fun of it rather than with a final product in mind,” she added.

]]>However, the past year has also provided us with plenty of opportunity. With more time on our hands and spring cleaning ahead of us, now is the perfect time to upgrade our home and beat boredom all at once.
Changing our environment can also help boost our energy and benefit our mental health. Upgrades can be big or small, as we choose. A fuss-free way to refresh your home is by adding a pop of color and surrounding yourself with objects that spark joy in your life (to borrow a phrase).
Most recently we’ve fallen in love with Bride & Wolfe’s unique colored mirrors. Designed in Australia and made in small quantities in collaboration with local Melbourne makers, Bride & Wolfe understands the importance of color as a means to promote happiness.
Launched in 2005 by Miranda Moreiraby, the brand specializes in limited edition, hand-finished home pieces that pay particular attention to design and materials. Known particularly for their colored mirrors (shaped in funky, playful shapes), the range includes roller skate and rainbow shaped mirrors, all available online.
“While my main focus has always been the online shop, markets are a fantastic way to connect with my customers,” Moreiraby told Creative Women’s Circle. “I love the feedback. My customers are super cool people and often involved in creative industries; with each new product the customer base grows and evolves.”

But overall, I just make it up as I go along. I think the immediate rawness shows through sometimes.”
Much like her creative process, her career choices were very much based on intuition and chance. “I’ve always been an illustrator and have been working towards making a living from that, ever since I can remember,” she shared. “The jewelry was a spur of the moment project I decided to have a go at in the summer of 2017. A couple of people saw my designs on social media and asked to buy them, since then it steadily became a small business!”
With her work being both playful and nostalgic, her brand is clearly inspired by the ’80s aesthetic, as well as the Memphis Milano cultural phenomenon of Italian design. Here are some of our favorite pieces by her.
