Taylor Swift gave us one of the best albums of 2020 with Folklore, and just when we thought her music couldn’t get any better, she surprised us once again. Her second album of the year Evermore is here—and so are the memes inspired by its surprise release.
Viral tweets inspired by this album range from heartfelt praise and hilarious jokes about individual songs to everything in between. Evermore is still fresh in our memory, but one ongoing viral joke is already emerging, and it’s all about comparing this record to Swift’s previous album Folklore.
Both records are similar in their tone and themes, and Swift herself even described Evermore as a “sister record” to its predecessor. That’s why her fans started posting photos of famous on-screen sister duos, usually twins, along with the capture “Folklore and Evermore”.
At this point in time, we’ve seen these two albums being compared to Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, Vanessa Hudgens’ characters in Princess Switch, and Phoebe and Ursula Buffay from Friends. The list goes on, and it’s extremely easy to take part in this viral craze since pretty much any famous sister or BFF duo fits into the picture.
