These Sculptures Look Like The Wind Blew Away Their Paint

Josh Mayhem has many descriptions to his name; he is a father, husband, artist, customizer, collector, and infinite source conduit. The 40-years-old Los Angeles based artist has a lifelong habit of collecting children’s toys. Best known for his project “Blown Away”, in which, according to his personal website “mass-produced forms are covered in strands of resin and layers of acrylic paint to create gravity-defying drips that give the impression of the work being deconstructed by a strong wind.”

Mayhem is an award-winning artist who has been sharing his work internationally and on his Instagram account.

When creating his artwork, the artist uses dozens of gallery-quality canvases as drop cloths. Each and every sculpture gets decorated with a mixture of color drips, while patters began to emerge in the artist’s mind.
