What’s the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of the word art? Vincent van Gogh, Leonardo da Vinci, Gustav Klimt, or maybe Pablo Picasso? They all had unique styles—just like Amber from Lancaster, South Carolina, who developed her own.

Better known as Sherace or sherace.studios on social media, the young author, painter, and sculptor creates masterpieces using paper, paint, and kitchen wipers. First, she makes her drawing digital, and then she transits to manual painting.

The technique she uses is called scrape art. She starts the process by taping a large sheet of wax paper onto a wall. Then tapes a thicker paper onto the wax paper. Next, she squeezes drops of paint and creates a “sketch”. Lastly, with the help of a kitchen wiper, the artist pulls the colors and reveals the painting. And the results are shocking!

The Winthrop University graduate scrapes beautiful images of cats, couples in love, and cartoon and book characters. She uploads her videos on her social media accounts, such as TikTok, where she’s attracted over 270,000 followers and 11.9 million likes, or Instagram, where she has a following of more than 25,000.
