James Manzo is a San Francisco park ranger who is passionate about everything that has to do with nature and wildlife. He is also a TikTok star who is entertaining millions of social media users with his creative ways of feeding hummingbirds.
Manzo found joy in bird feeding several years ago after the practice helped him deal with a personal loss. He started filming some of his bird-feeding sessions and posting them on TikTok, where they quickly got attention from other users and bird enthusiasts.
After a while, Manzo felt that feeding the hummingbirds out of his hand is becoming repetitive. This was when he began constructing all sorts of wild, intriguing, and sometimes bizarre bird feeders. This included elaborate costumes out of flowers and feeders, umbrella hats with feeders attached, and even glasses with attached feeders for a more immersive bird-watching experience.
TikTok users seem to love Manzo’s creative approach, with his profile getting more than 720K followers on this social media platform. He loves the attention his bird feeders get but is not allowing himself to get carried away.
“I’m just living in the here and now, and enjoying it while it lasts,” he shared in a chat with San Francisco Chronicle.
