Imagine getting a scholarship offer from your preferred college and finding out only after it became too late to accept it. Well, that is just what happened to TikTok user Madi, aka @luvlyymadiii.
In a recent clip posted on TikTok, Madi shared a portion of her video diary from April 29th. It shows the teenager going through unopened college acceptance letters from October after she cleaned out her closet.
At one point, Madi discovers a letter from Maryville College, which was one of the Top 3 schools she wanted to go to and gets shocked. It turns out the college actually made her a $104,000 scholarship offer.
“Already decided to go to a community college because I thought university would be too much debt,” she wrote in the text across the video while explaining that the deadline for accepting the offer is a couple of days away.
Madi’s video quickly became viral and got 2.5 million views. It also saw countless TikTok users encouraging her to accept the offer regardless and follow her dreams.
Two weeks after the original video, Madi posted an update revealing that her story has a happy ending. Maryville College staff actually saw her video and reached out to the teenager.
“Basically, they said they were gonna make my dreams come true, and they’re gonna send me an official award offer letter to my Gmail,” she shared. “So now I’m going to college, and I’m so excited!”
