Check Signed by Apple Founder Steve Jobs Sells for $107K at an Auction

The popularity of Apple memorabilia has been on the rise in recent years, with old Apple tech and other company-related items selling for huge prices at auctions. Just last week, a check signed by Apple founder Steve Jobs was sold for $106,985 at an auction organized by RR Auction.

The check dates from 1976, the year when Jobs was still running Apple from his garage. It was made to consulting firm Crampton, Remke & Miller, INC., for a sum of $175. It also features Apple’s first address, “770 Welch Rd., Ste. 154, Palo Alto, Ca 94304.” This was actually the address of the answering service that Jobs and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak used in the early days of the company.

According to Bobby Livingston, RR Auction’s executive vice president, the checks from the early days of Apple are highly desirable among collectors. They not only tell the origin story of a globally-recognizable company but also feature Jobs’ autographs in pristine condition.

“It’s a highly desirable, essentially flawless check from a central moment in the history of modern tech,” said Livingston.

RR Auction has sold a number of other Apple memorabilia in the past, including vintage company posters, early tech, and more.
