Leaving your laptop unattended in a crowded place is crazy, right? Well, not if you are in Singapore. It turns out that you can leave your belonging here at a public place and find them untouched even an hour later.
Singapore is known as one of the safest countries in the world, with cases of petty crime and violence being extremely rare. TikTok user @uptin recently decided to put this to the test and decided to leave his laptop unattended in a random Starbucks.
The TikToker then decided to take a tour of a nearby mall and get lunch. He returned to Starbucks an hour later and discovered that the laptop was at the same spot where he had left it.
@uptin detailed the experiment in a TikTok video, which turned viral quickly after being posted. The internet was shocked by the results, as many of them thought he would never see the laptop again.
The clip received more than 23 million views in less than a week while also getting 3.3 million likes and 16K comments.

As @uptin explains in his video, there are multiple reasons that have caused Singapore to have such a low crime rate. This includes severe punishment even for some minor offenses, as well as heightened surveillance that ensures most offenders can be discovered right away.
