Don’t you hate when the jeans you like don’t fit the way you would like? This can be especially a problem with high-waisted jeans, which usually have a loose waistband and can’t stay in place. Luckily, one TikToker came up with an amazing hack that solves this problem.
TikTok user _fernfitness recently posted a viral video that saw her fitting her high-waisted jeans perfectly using shoelaces. She added a caption: “Shoelace trick is a game changer” and caused quite a buzz on the social media platform. The clip quickly reached 12 million views and started a plea in the comments for her to reveal the trick.

Giving the people what they want, _fernfitness recorded a follow-up video in which she revealed the behind-the-scenes of the trick with the appropriate steps. To pull off the trick, you need your favorite high-waisted jeans, scissors, long shoelace, and Bobby pin.
Take the scissors and make two holes on the inside of the waistband fabric near the button and the buttonhole (but not too close). There are two layers of fabric on the waistband, and you should only cut the inner layer.
Then, mount a Bobby pin to one end of the shoelace and get it through one of the holes. Keep pushing the pin and shoelace through the hole until you get it out on the other end. Now all you have to do is put those jeans on, tie the shoelaces to get the perfect fit, and tuck them away. For a visual demonstration, check out _fernfitness’ video below.
