Tomás Sánchez is a Cuban painter known for detailed nature scenes that look like surreal photographs. He paints forests, islands, waterfalls, waters, and many other natural elements. He’s been perfecting his style for almost three decades and his paintings represent an idealistic world where nature rules.
“The interior spaces that I experience in meditation are converted into the landscapes of my paintings; the restlessness of my mind transformed into landfills,” Sánchez wrote in a statement. As he says, painting helps him meditate, which brings him to a union with nature, and nature leads him back to meditation.
