Turkish Artist Makes Astonishing Portraits Using Denim Which Look Like Paintings

Did you know that the first pair of jeans were made back in 1873 by Levi Strauss and Jacob Davis? Almost 150 years later, these pants are so cheap and affordable to anyone. Which, if not recycled, is a waste and can cause damage to the environment. But, fortunately, we have artists who come to the rescue and use jeans as their medium.

One of them is the 39-year-old textile artist Deniz Sagadic from Turkey. At first, when you see Sagadic portraits, you might think they are blue colored oil paintings. However, if you look closely, you will see layers upon layers of denim.

Using denim, she creates beautiful portraits of celebrities and unknown people. Browsing through her Instagram gallery you can also come across images of animals and other random objects all made of fibers using jeans that others have discarded.

All of her work has its own background story with which she wants to highlight various subjects like equality and democracy.

During her career, Sagadic was a busy bee and exhibited her work in both international and Turkish galleries. She also shares images of her creations on Instagram, where you can take a look and enjoy true masterpieces.
