Watch 150 People In T-Rex Costumes Race in Auburn

Auburn, Washington, was recently a site of one of the most unusual races in recent memory. Around 150 people showed up in inflatable T-Rex costumes to run in a 1/16-mile race at Emerald Downs and to try to get the bragging rights of being the fastest costumed T-Rex.

The T-Rex Derby previously went viral in 2019 and became the talking point of the internet. Anyone who watched the race was entertained and hilarious that the organizers decided to make it an annual event. Unfortunately, the pandemic hit, and the race had to be canceled in the previous two years.

With the world coming back to normal, Emerald Downs decided to bring back the T-Rex Derby, and it was arguably better than the first time. More people showed up to take part while the stands were packed.

“So many people commented how the race video made them smile and laugh,” said Phil Ziegler, the President of Emerald Down, about why they organized the race again.

With the 2022 T-Rex Derby being another smashing hit, there is no doubt that it will soon become a tradition that will attract more people each year. We are strongly considering signing up for 2023, and so should you.
