3D Artist Reimagines Famous Paintings as Made of Fur

Murat Yildirim from Turkey is a digital artist who creates digital versions of famous paintings in digital 3D fur. Her series of images includes six masterpieces: Salvador Dali’s The Persistence of Memory, Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, Johannes Vermeer’s Girl With a Pearl Earring, Edvard Munch’s The Scream, Claude Monet’s Soleil Levant, and Vincent van Gogh’s The Starry Night.

If you look closely, the creations look like swirls of thick bristly fur. However, they are still very recognizable and adored by his social media followers. In one of his statements, Yildirim said that he has been always into classical paintings since he was a little boy. And now, with the usage of cinema 4D, the Istanbul-based artist turned them into digital artwork.

“In this abstract idea, I used furs as a creative tool to move world-famous paintings forward. With this effect, I combined the colors of all pictures in an innovative and vibrant way,” he said.

The artist currently has over 65,000 followers, and his furry images are the most popular ones on his Instagram feed; The Furry Night received more than 26,000 likes from people all around the world.
