Artist Creates Colorful Patterns Using Various Foods

Adam Hillman is an artist who creates symmetrical and visually satisfying arrangements using various foods and other common objects. On his Instagram page Witenry, he has over 306k followers excited to see his work week after week.

Hillman usually works with fruits, vegetables, candy, eggs, bacon, and other foods, but sometimes he uses other objects like coins and crayons. The thing that connects all of his works is the colorful pattern design that he’s become an expert at. Although it may seem that the photos you see are digitally altered, there’s no sign of digital manipulation here. Everything is created in the real world before he simply snaps a photo.

“Recently I’ve been focusing a lot on color contrast and gradient,” the artist told My Modern Met. “Unlike a lot of my previous work, which primarily used singular objects and an array of different colors, I’ve been creating cut pieces that combine a wide variety of singularly toned objects over a geometric, cut-paper background, such as the wide variety of red-toned fruit and vegetables.”
