Artist Depicts Everyday Struggles as an Adult During the Pandemic

If there’s anyone who understands that laughter is the ultimate medicine, it’s designer Irina Blok. The former Facebook, Apple, Yahoo, and Adobe employee, started drawing during the lockdown in 2020 to deal with stress. She now posts illustrations on a daily basis, and her work is the perfect combination of hilarious and relatable.

Born in Russia and now based in Silicon Valley, designer Irina Blok is inspired by all things that surround her. “I get inspired by the daily struggles of being an imperfect human and dealing with various emotions,” Blok shared in a statement for Bored Panda. “Some are more ‘deep’ about how your past affects your future or how to adjust your expectations to reality, and some are more comical, like being on the toilet is ‘my happy place’.”

She also shared that there is something “satisfying about having an idea pop in your head and seeing it on paper (or on the iPad) just a few minutes later.” What an amazing concept!

She currently has more than 14,000 Instagram followers and hundreds of likes on each post. If you want to boost your happy hormones, check out the gallery below.
