Artist Illustrates Images Inspired By Books and Fellow Artists

_Kira_sun on Instagram is a Chinese artist currently working as a UX designer in the USA. During her career, the former freelance illustrator experimented with various media, including pencil, oil painting, laptop(s), and an iPad. She says that she is currently working digitally because “it’s a sweet spot between traditional media and computers.”

“I personally love the ‘unclear’ style, which is almost against the major commercial needs. But I think being random and multi-vocal is closer to the essentials of the world, that’s why I want to show it visually,” the artist shared in an interview for Ballpit. “My ultimate goal is that different audiences can find more than one version of stories in my one still illustration. So now I’m trying to add that depth into my works.”

She studied at the University of Michigan, but explains that mentally, her study never ended, “and it’s from all other great artists.”
