Genius Art Incorporated in the Streets of European Cities

Street art often gets a bad rap due to reckless tagging and random writings that some people like to leave on walls and buildings. But there is much more to street art than that, and the works of French street artist Charles Leval are a perfect example.

Leval does the majority of his art on the streets of European cities, and the streets themselves often guide him in the creative process. Before he starts painting, he first checks out his surroundings, the placement of objects, and the architecture. This allows him to incorporate the piece into the city’s landscape and get amazing artwork in the process.

According to Leval himself, making art on the streets for the sake of making street art isn’t his goal. Instead, he aims to produce a “context-sensitive art” and have it serve as a “means of intervention.”

Leval has made more than 100 street art pieces so far and shares many of them on his official Instagram page. Check out our favorites below.
