Barcelona-based Illustrator Creates Colorful Images You’ll Love

“Art is one of the most important things in my life. I can’t imagine the world without art, it wouldn’t make sense to me.” This is how self-taught illustrator and surface pattern designer Tania Garcia describes her love for art.

She entered the world of colors when she was a little girl. Her parents saw how passionate their girl was for drawing and painting, so they decided to sign her up to an art school for kids. After attending it for six years, Garcia chose to take a break from it all, and left the art world. However, in her twenties, she realized that art is her passion.

“Color is my obsession so I’m always experimenting with new color palettes. I try to get illustrations with clean finishes and organic textures. I would describe my style as happy, feminine, joyful, positive, colorful, and fresh,” she explained in an interview for Ballpit.

The artist used to paint with watercolor, but now she likes drawing digitally, especially with her iPad: “Digital illustration allows me to work with vibrant color palettes and textures that I make myself with Indian ink. Another reason I work digitally is that publishers I work with prefer it that way,” she added.
