Back in 2017, Billie Eilish set down with Vanity Fair to do a short interview, but she couldn’t have predicted it would become a viral sensation. She went back to do it every year since then, and she’s once again going viral after answering the same questions for the sixth year in a row.

When the original interview came out in 2017, Eilish was still a rising star, with zero No. 1 hits and Grammy Awards under her belt. Her breakout hit “Ocean Eyes” had just put her on the map, and she gave us such songs “Bellyache” and “Idontwannabeyouanymore” while getting ready to release her debut album.

Eilish answered some basic questions, from how many Instagram followers she has to how many Google results pop up for her name. The questions seemed pretty trivial, but they did a perfect job chronicling her growth as the years went by and she went on to become one of the most acclaimed recording artists of her generation.

2022 has been a pretty huge year for Eilish, seeing her win an Oscar and headline such iconic festivals as Coachella and Glastonbury. In addition to answering some of the same questions (and cringing at her old answers), she also asked her followers to ask her some new questions to spice things up.
