There’s something truly magical about collecting tiny rocks and pebbles as reminders of beautiful places and moments in your life, but one creative couple turned it into an art form. Brandon and Sam of Rock You Wear are transforming rocks into unique hand-carved jewelry.
It’s been 15 years since the couple from Rhode Island started making rock and pebble jewelry that perfectly encapsulates the beauty of their home state, and Brandon’s love for the ocean was their driving force.
“He was looking for something that represented nature and expressed his love for the ocean. When he couldn’t find what he had in mind he decided to try making one himself. Using tools his mom had at their house, he carved his first beach rock and wore it as a necklace,” reads a post on Rock You Wear’s Instagram page.
Brandon used tools that he found at his mom’s shed and a random rock from a local beach to create his first necklace. This marked the beginning of a fun hobby, but he loved it so much that he eventually decided to share it with the rest of the world and started his own Etsy shop. Pendants remain the couple’s signature product, but we’ve seen them create everything from earrings to tiny plant holders over the years.
