Many people believe that dogs and postmen are sworn enemies, but one animal-loving guy from Brazil would like to disagree. Angelo Cristiano Da Silva Antunes became a viral sensation after he started sharing adorable selfies with all the animals he met while delivering mail.
Antunes goes by @CarteiroAmigoDosAnimais on social media, which can be roughly translated as “animal-friendly postman”. He’s been delivering mail for about a decade and he formed a strong bond with many four-legged friends during many years on the job.
Antunes is based in São Paulo, Brazil, and he’s breaking the stereotype that dogs hate postmen through his adorable social media posts. He enjoys running into all sorts of animals on his delivery route, but dogs certainly hold a special place in his heart.
Antunes is very skilled with dogs, and he has a special technique to get on their good side. After greeting them, he lets them sniff his hand from a safe distance and only approaches them closely once he’s sure they’re comfortable in his presence.
Antunes enjoys being around dogs even when he’s off the job. In addition to having a few pets of his own, he also frequently rescues animals in need, and he’s hoping he’ll open his own animal shelter one day.
