Most people are scared of alligators, but you’ll probably change your tune after reading a few of Buddy Gator comics. The illustrator behind this series is presenting alligators as friendly creatures, spreading love and positivity everywhere they go.
Buddy Gator comics are the brainchild of Malaysian illustrator Chow Hon Lam, who attracted over 700,000 followers to his Instagram page since 2020. He’s dedicated to spreading positive vibes through his comics because he believes everyone is born special – even the animals that may seem intimidating at first, such as alligators.
“Alligators sometimes give us a scary impression: long mouth, sharp teeth, strong and scary tail. Alligators can be warm and sweet too. In this comic, you will see a different alligator, a warm and friendly alligator. I will call him Buddy Gator. Maybe we all need a buddy like him,” explains Chow Hon Lam on his official website.
Buddy Gator is the main star of these comics, but he’s in pretty good company. Chow Hon Lam introduced us to many of his friends over time, including Eric the grumpy bunny, and Terry the pink alligator. In addition to finding success with his wholesome comics on Instagram, he also published a book called Glad To See You, which is available in English, Chinese, and Thai.
