Cats can get mad at you for many reasons, but shaving your beard shouldn’t be one of them. Or at least that’s what we thought until we saw a viral video shared by TikTok user Laura Ousley aka @lauratheexplora__.
In the clip, which was already viewed more than 3.3 million times, the TikToker’s husband Jordan is shown spending some quality time with the couple’s cat on the sofa. The cat, named Ferris, is shown enjoying some cuddles and rubbing its face on Jordan’s beard.
The next scene, however, saws Ferris being much less affectionate towards Jordan after realizing he shaved his beard. The cat is visibly mad and even tries to avoid touching Jordan’s beardless face.
“When dad shaved his beard without consulting with his little guy first,” the TikToker captioned the video.
In a chat with Newsweek, Laura explained that her husband was diagnosed with a disease that caused him to lose a lot of weight. Jordan became “self-conscious about his appearance” and decided not to shave his beard. Ferris ended up getting accustomed to it and enjoyed getting beard rubs.
“Since starting treatment, he was able to gain all his weight back and felt confident to shave again. But our cat was not a fan of this decision!” she shared.
While Ferris might be disappointed at the moment, we have no doubts that he will forgive his owner for the lack of a beard soon, and the two will be best friends again.
