We’re probably never going to have another sitcom as popular as Friends, and until recently that wasn’t such a big deal. We could just watch reruns on Netflix as many times as we wanted. But with the show officially leaving Netflix and moving to WarnerMedia’s new streaming service, HBO Max, fans started saying goodbye to their favorite combo of a TV show and a platform to watch it on.
One of those fans is talented musician Chase Holfelder, who transformed the show’s famous theme song into a heavy metal ballad by changing it to a minor key and slowing down the tempo. The result is a heartfelt and poignant goodbye to good friends everywhere.
“In light of the terrible news that Friends will soon be leaving Netflix, I made a sad, minor-key version of the theme song,” he wrote on Youtube. Definitely check out Holfelder’s Youtube channel for more major-to-minor covers!
