Akela is an exceptional dog who wasn’t happy in her previous home. She wasn’t off-leash and was super depressed because of it. Meanwhile, when she became part of Ellie Crabb’s family, she immediately blossomed. Now, the German shepherd and husky mix lives her dream.
One day, the 27-year-old Crabb decided to take her canine on a skiing adventure and was shocked when she discovered Akela’s love for the snowy outdoors.
“We use a bungee lead with a padded handle, and I started by racing her on a leash,” the owner said to Metro UK. “Once she had the idea, I started letting her win the race, the leash would go taught, and then she would be pulling me.”
The former drama teacher also says that she always chooses trails where is some gradient for their safety, so that momentum helps her pull.
She also shares breathtaking images on her Instagram account where people can enjoy their adventures. They currently have only 1300 followers, but that shouldn’t stop you from checking them out. Besides skiing, Akela also goes on bike rides, long walks and even likes to ride a boat.
