Tipping a person that delivers your food is considered a common courtesy. But as it turns out, not any tip will do. According to a viral video posted by @doordashtips2 on TikTok, giving a poor tip might leave you without your food.
The clip, which got more than 650K views in less than a week, shows an unnamed DoorDash delivery driver complaining about a $1 tip he received from a customer.
“This DoorDash customer only tipped $1, hmm let’s see what he got at Arby’s huh?” the man says as he is going through the bag. “It’s got beef and cheddar. It’s got the French dip and the crinkle fries. Oh man, that’s my favorite.”
The driver then proceeds to start eating the food while saying: “thank you, $1 tipper!”
The video sparked an outrage among the TikTok community, who went to the comment section to express their dissatisfaction with the driver’s actions.
“Don’t you get to choose beforehand? If you don’t like it, then don’t deliver. Some people prefer to tip AFTER they get their order,” wrote one user.
“Some people can’t afford more than the cost of the food,” wrote another.
Of course, there were also those justifying the driver’s actions, saying that the $1 tip was too low for his troubles. Some also suspected that it might be just a stunt or a parody to get views. Guess we’ll never know.
