You would think everyone would be thrilled to get tickets for Taylor Swift’s show, especially since her upcoming Eras Tour seems to be sold out for a while now. But for one young girl, they were just a disappointing Christmas present.
A recent viral video posted on TikTok by user @allybeach919 shows parents gifting their daughter tickets for a Taylor Swift concert for Christmas. They are expecting a burst of celebration because the tickets were extremely hard to come by, only for their present to be met with an unenthusiastic reaction.
“Oh, Taylor Swift,” the young girl says after seeing the tickets. “Whoa—I’m not a big fan.”
The dad ends up bursting into laughter, while the mother can’t believe what just happened.
The video quickly spread all over the internet, getting 24 million views on TikTok alone. The comment section was also flooded by comments, ranging from those sharing the parents’ disbelief to ones that blamed the parents for “not knowing their kid.”
“This is on the parents, they should know what their kid dislikes and what they don’t,” one user wrote.
There were also those that wanted to take advantage of the situation and buy the ticket. However, it turns out that the young girl could still end up going to the concert since @allybeach919 later clarified the mishap in the comments.
“Her stepsister B loves Taylor Swift- her dad got 2 tickets so they could go together. She does like Taylor just not a BIG Fan like B,” @allybeach919 explained. How would you feel if you got Taylor Swift tickets unexpectedly?
