Get Lost in Rosemary’s Colorful World of Punch Needle Embroidery

If you’ve yet to discover the magical world of punch needle embroidery, the Nuanua’s work will leave you speechless. This amazing textile art form, which has a connection to tapestry, hand weaving, and rug hooking is living its best and most colorful life in the creations of this Australian artist.

The Nuanua is the brain-child of textile artist Rosemary, who currently resides in Sydney, Australia. She describes herself as someone who’s always appreciated the depth and detail in fiber art, and her unique technique allowed her to create something truly extraordinary.

“I never learnt how to knit or crochet, but I was always fascinated by the colors and patterns that could be created with some knitting needles and balls of yarn. I always wanted something more than a sweater and scarf, something big and vibrant that could physically take up space,” writes Rosemary on her official website.

Her affinity for punch needle technique isn’t the only thing that separates her from other embroidery artists. Her creations are also instantly recognizable for their unique pop of bright colors. In addition to crafting classic embroidery hoops, Rosemary also enjoys creating smaller wave squares and equally vibrant hanging decorations.
