Holiday Lights Warm Up Dark Winter Nights in Jeremy Miranda’s Paintings

Jeremy Miranda is a Maine-based artist known for his dreamlike paintings of landscapes and interiors that incorporate elements of nostalgia, intimacy, and memory. Miranda’s work often focuses on the magic of the mundane, and in recent years he has created a collection of holiday paintings that depict Christmas trees and decorated homes, capturing the warmth and joy of the season against the backdrop of cold winter nights.

Miranda was born in 1980 in Middletown, Rhode Island, and later graduated with a BFA in painting from Massachusetts College of Art in 2004. His work focuses on painting about memory and landscape, and he is known for creating complex spatial environments that blur the line between interior and exterior worlds. He currently lives and works in Dover, New Hampshire with his partner, artist Michelle Morin.

Miranda’s paintings are characterized by their vibrant use of color, particularly in the colorful lights that are strung on trees and lining gutters, casting a warm and welcoming glow on dreary winter evenings.
