Husky Joins His Owner to Sing a Song to Cheer People Up

Kovu the husky loves to sing and he’s never afraid to speak his mind. “Kovu certainly has a personality — he is sassy, loving, caring and definitely vocal,” Tate Hegstrom, Kovu’s dad, told The Dodo. “His voice allows him to show so many different emotions depending on his mood.”

Hegstrom works in the health care field and he’s always been into music. Early on, he learned that his husky loves music as much as he does and Kovu sings along whenever his dad brings out the guitar. The husky started singing as soon as he could howl, when he was a puppy.

Working firsthand during the coronavirus, Hegstrom wanted to dedicate a song to the frontline workers to cheer them up and raise their spirits. Kovu decided he also wanted to thank them, so he jumped in. The duo sang “Lean on Me” and Kovu howled along to the song perfectly.

“During a time when being physically together as a community is difficult, people resort to finding community online,” Hegstrom said. “I think during this time, a video with a cute puppy who can sing a song with an uplifting message is something people needed, and it’s given people a smile.”

For an instant dose of cuteness, watch the video below as well as another one with them singing “I’m Yours.” Did it manage to put a smile on your face?
