We’ve all wondered what our pets are thinking at least once in a lifetime, but Jimmy Craig decided to actually do something about it. This illustrator became a true Instagram sensation after he started creating hilarious comics that perfectly capture animals’ secret thoughts.
Craig attracted almost 600,000 followers to his Instagram page with his viral series of comics “They Can Talk” and it’s not difficult to see how it became such a huge sensation. His illustrations range from instantly relatable to completely unexpected, showing us what animals would be saying if they could speak the human language.
Craig knew exactly what he was doing when he was picking the topic for this project. He wanted to create a series that he could do in a long run, and focusing on animals was a great fit. He also picked them because he’s much better at drawing them than people.
“I love comics and I love animals, but I’m not very good at drawing people—specifically hands and feet. Nobody really seems to notice if a paw is drawn incorrectly,” Craig told Huffington Post.
“They Can Talk” series became such a huge sensation that Craig started selling prints and shirts with his illustrations, in addition to publishing a book with his hilarious comics.
