It’s hard to shock internet users these days. However, one man recently managed to do so with a bizarre way of drinking his beer at a baseball game.
A viral video surfaced on social media showing a New York Yankees fan drinking his beer through a hot dog. The man casually took a regular plastic straw, made a hole in a hot dog, and then dunked it into a cup filled with beer. He casually proceeded to use the hot dog star for drinking his beer, acting like he didn’t just commit a major food crime.
Unfortunately for him, the video showing his outrageous drinking method made it to the internet and left everyone who saw it stupefied. It was first posted by New York City-themed Instagram account New York Nico. It was later shared by Jomboy Media on Twitter, where it received more than 12 million views.
As you might guess, the social media users went after the man in the comment section. One user wrote the method is “gross,” while another wanted to call the police on him. However, not everyone thought this was an awful idea.
Some users pointed out how society is moving on from plastic straws and that this might be a good alternative.
“Well, we’re not allowed to use plastic straws in NYC, and paper straws are horrible,” one user wrote. “This man is a genius. He needs to patent that and go on SharkTank.”
