Iron Maiden Honored by Royal Mail With Limited Edition Stamp Collection

Heavy metal fans in the UK just got a big reason to send letters more often. The Royal Mail recently unveiled a new stamp collection that honors the heavy metal icons Iron Maiden.

The collection features eight stamps that are based on photos from some of Iron Maiden’s past live shows. This includes 1988’s show in Pamplona, 2001’s show in Rio De Janeiro, and 2018’s concert from Birmingham.

The remaining four stamps have been preserved for Iron Maiden’s famous mascot Eddie. The mascot made a debut on the cover of the band’s debut album and has since been prominently featured on subsequent covers and artworks.

Eddie has had a number of different reincarnations over the years, but the ones selected for the stamps are the original Eddie, Trooper Eddie, Aces High Eddie, and Senjutsu Eddie.

The stamps are already out and can be ordered through the Royal Mail’s website. The basic collection with all 12 stamps costs $21.65. There were also several limited editions of the stamps available, but all of them promptly sold out and are currently out of stock.

So, if you have friends in the UK, tell them to send you a letter one of these days. Hopefully, they will stamp them with Iron Maiden stamps.
