Jean Jullien Illustrates Adorable Surfboards

Jean Jullien is a French artist who illustrates adorable surfboards. He paints cartoonish faces on them in collaboration with the company Fernand that manufactures them. The four designs include two smiling fish, a whale, and a seal.

“Super happy to present the four surfboards I’ve done with @fernandsurfboards,” the artist wrote on Instagram. “Each is unique and hand-painted on the foam before being glassed by @resinleague and polished by @paulyisearlgrey. It’s been a dream of mine to work on this and I hope you like it!”

Each of the illustrations was hand-painted by Jullien before getting glazed and polished. We’re sure they will be a huge hit among surfers because even non-surfers adore them.

Jullien was born in Nantes and has moved to London for work. He graduated from Central Saint Martins and from the Royal College of Art. Besides illustration, his work includes photography, video, installations, costume, and more.

His work has been shown in galleries and museums around the world. The list of clients he worked with includes New York Times, The Guardian, Beams, National Geographic, Champion, Vogue, Esquire, Colette, and many others.
