Lay’s Pranks Chips Enthusiasts With Fake Roasted Brussel Sprouts Flavor

Potato chips maker Lay’s recently decided to pull a genius prank on their social media followers. Their social media team presented a new chip flavor called Roasted Brussel Sprouts, causing outrage among chip enthusiasts.

“That golden roasted crunch just hits different than when you were a kid,” the company wrote in the caption alongside the photo of the chip flavor. To their credit, Lay’s also added the hashtag #fakeflavor to avoid confusion.

Despite Lay’s coming clear about the Roasted Brussel Sprouts chips, some fans didn’t realize it was all a joke and went after the company for coming up with such an awful flavor.

One user said there is “not a chance in hell” they would try this one, while others turned to vomit emojis and gifs. The @Tato_is_cool went as far as writing he “would rather die” than eat something like that.

However, there were also those who were genuinely excited about the new flavor. They argued that Lay’s needs to do this for real since roasted Brussels sprouts taste great and that they would go well with potato chips.

While Lay’s made it clear this is just something they came up with for fun, who knows? It wouldn’t be the first time that a company jokes about a product and then makes it for real later.
