Luisa Azevedo’s Instagram bio reads, “I don’t want realism. I want magic,” and her art perfectly captures these words. This young Portuguese artist will take you to a dreamy world through her photo manipulations, which show animals in a whole new light.
Azevedo is a 24-year-old digital artist based in Lisbon, Portugal and she’s been developing her unique style since her teenage years. She started making photo manipulations and sharing her work online when she was just 17, and her Instagram page is now followed by 140,000 people.
Art wasn’t just a hobby for Azevedo, but something she wanted to do for the rest of her life. That’s why she decided to get a degree in Multimedia Art at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon and became a full-time artist following her graduation in 2019.
Creating art has always been therapeutic for Azevedo, and she decided to use it to explore her love for animals and nature.
“All I want and ever wanted was to create things that made me and others feel happy and serene, things that could make us all dream and go to a world full of magic and mystery where imagination and creativity have no boundaries,” she explains on her Etsy page.
