Elyssia Ward’s Handmade Jewelry is a Maximalist Delight

After taking the home décor world by storm, maximalism is slowly coming for our jewelry collection. Elyssia Ward is using her skills as a ceramic artist to create some of the most colorful, quirky, and delightful jewelry that you’ll see all day, mostly focusing on whimsical charm necklaces.

Ward is based in Glasgow, Scotland, and she graduated from the Glasgow School of Art with BA honors in textile design. She’s been interested in drawing and painting long before attending university, and her studies allowed her to further explore her love for surface pattern design and illustration.

Ward also started developing her skills as a ceramic artist around this time, slow-making her whimsical pieces by hand with a lot of love and care.

“Every ceramic piece undergoes several processes from hand-building, hand-painting, and being fired in a kiln multiple times. Materials used are usually white stoneware, underglaze, and transparent glaze,” she explains on her official website.

Ward founded her own brand Expressive Forest and became a true sensation thanks to her charm necklaces, taking shape of cowboy boots, tulips, bottles, animals, painted vases, and everything in between. When she’s not making quirky jewelry, Ward usually focuses on crafting flower candelabras, another product that she’s best known for.
