Raya Sader Bujana is Crafting Miniature Paper Art Inspired By Nature

Some artists use paper as canvas, while others prefer to transform it into something quite extraordinary and unexpected. Raya Sader Bujana is one of them, and she’ll rock your world with her miniature paper art, often inspired by the natural beauty of the world around her.

Bujana is a Lebanese-Venezuelan artist based in Barcelona, Spain, and it’s been over two decades since she fell in love with paper art. She studied architecture at university and started experimenting with paper during that time, finding a connection between two mediums.

“As an artist using paper as a primary medium, I’ve come to define my work as something between illustration and sculpture, with a strong focus on details and care at the heart of it all. My background in architecture comes through in my visual approach to composition,” she explains on her official website.

She’s always treated paper as a sculptural material, cutting, curving, layering, and shaping it to craft amazing works of art. She used the knowledge that she gained making architecture models to make her paper art bloom and her style significantly evolved over the years.

Raya is now one of the most popular paper artists on Instagram, and her page @littlerayofsunflower attracted over 150,000 followers so far. She mostly focuses on nature-inspired art, best known for its miniature scope.
