Katie Jones is Crafting Some of the Most Colorful and Offbeat Crochet Pieces That You’ll Ever See

Crochet experienced somewhat of a renaissance in the past few years, but Katie Jones has been doing it long before it was cool. She’s been making waves with her eponymous brand, creating some of the most colorful and offbeat crochet art that you’ll ever come across.

Jones fell in love with knitwear at a young age. She specialized in it at university and even worked for renowned knitwear designer Mark Fast. She later decided to start her own crochet brand alongside her mom Annie, with a focus in fun, colorful, hand-crafted pieces that put a modern twist on an old craft we all know and love.

Jones prides herself in running a sustainable brand, and this became one of her core values after she started upcycling and using surplus at the very beginning of her creative journey.

“I have always wanted to create wearable, artisanal collections that are big on color and texture. But more than just creating beautiful garments, the brand creates playful experiences that encourage and champion social and environmental change,” she explains on her official website.

In addition to selling her crochet pieces online, Jones is trying to teach people the secrets of her craft through her Domestika online course and newly-released book Hip To Be Square.
