Nail art is a pretty underrated art form, but there are many amazing manicurists out there who are doing it justice. San Sung Kim is one of them, and her nail art creations are so extraordinary and surreal that they belong in a museum.
Sung Kim currently resides in Fayetteville, Arkansas, but she’s been living everywhere from her home country of South Korea to the Philippines, Germany, and England over the years. She studied English literature and strived towards becoming a physician, but her whole outlook changed when she discovered nail art.
Sung Kim enjoyed art as a child but never considered pursuing it professionally. Her love for art rekindled while she was trying to prepare for her wedding, and she bought her first gel polish set and a UV lamp in the hope she’ll be able to craft her own manicure.
Unfortunately, she couldn’t do her wedding nails, but she kept trying to make something amazing – and she eventually succeeded. She finally summoned the courage to share her art with the world in 2021, and she now has over 70,000 followers on Instagram.
What separates Sung Kim from most other nail artists is her love for art-inspired, surrealist manicures. She sees nail art as a form of storytelling and often blends different styles and techniques to craft tiny works of art that have to be seen to be believed.
