Teenager Goes Out of His Way to Return a Lost Wallet to Arkansas Grandma

Arkansas-based grandma Dee Harkrider recently shared a heartwarming post on her Facebook that is singlehandedly restoring the internet’s faith in humanity. The post detailed how a 19-year-old college student whom she had never met had gone out of his way to return the wallet she lost while shopping.

The woman finished her grocery run at Walmart and was heading home when she received a call from a friend. The friend informed Harkrider that a young man named Delivontae Johnson found her wallet in a shopping cart but didn’t know how to reach her.

It turned out that Johnson had stopped by Walmart to change a flat tire when he noticed the wallet. He picked it up and headed to Wynne, following the address on Harkrider’s driver’s license, only to discover that the woman was in Palestine, Arkansas.

The teenager didn’t mind making a detour and ended up making his way to Palestine only to return Harkrider her wallet. Knowing that these acts of kindness don’t happen often, grandma asked Johnson to take a photo with her so she could share the story on social media.

“I wanted people to know what this young man had done for me. I had to share it,” Harkrider later told Fox16.

The story of Johnson’s kindness received a lot of buzz on social media, with internet users racing to praise the teenager for his actions. But the thing he cherishes more is that he made his mom proud.

“She said I did a good job. I’m glad she raised me to be the man I am today,” Johnson said.
